Tracking Your SWIFT - Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about SWIFT payment tracking
Can I track a SWIFT?
Yes. The sender of the SWIFT can ask their bank to provide GPI tracking. Sometimes the bank is not part of the GPI network, so you can ask for the payment reference number or UETR and try it here. Usually, you will see the SWIFT payment status, like ACSP (in process) or RJCT (rejected).
How is SWIFT tracking organized?
We partner with major correspondent banks that offer SWIFT GPI Basic tracking services. We aggregate this data so you can have a comprehensive view of what's going on with your payment.
How long do SWIFT wire transfers take?
Typically, SWIFT payments take 1-3 days to process. If you have not received the payment within this timeframe, it may be undergoing manual review. Due to high workloads, compliance officers may take up to two months to complete their review.
What is the UETR code?
A Unique End-to-End Transaction Reference (UETR) is a 36-character identifier included in all SWIFT payment instruction messages, formatted as XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX. It may sometimes be found in the MT103 form.
My SWIFT payment is missing. What should I do?
In most cases, the payment is not lost but delayed at one of the banks. The most effective course of action is to request your bank to initiate a payment investigation. Typically, this can only be done by the sender.
